Concise information to submit a paper to the BJMBR


All Categories should contain:

  1. Cover letter with a) article title, b) names of all authors, c) name of author to whom correspondence should be sent with complete mailing address, including zip code, telephone number, fax number and e-mail, d) names of up to 5 SPECIALISTS who could be considered as reviewers of the paper. Please inform the full names, e-mail and institution in the cover letter.
  2. First page must have the names of the authors and their respective institutions including Department, University, City, State and Country in Portuguese for Brazilian authors and English for all other authors. One author must be listed for correspondence with his complete address including email. A running title must be included. Please see http://www.bjournal.com.br/ for all norms of submission.
  3. Abstract of no more than 250 words in a single paragraph without subtitles.
  4. No more than 6 key words.
  5. Running title to be used as a page heading that does not exceed 60 letters and spaces.
  6. Figure with Magnification bar . Add a magnification bar with its equivalent in micrometers when appropriate. We must have the size of the magnification bar and its value in micrometers and not the original magnification (400X) (see instructions here).
  7. Tables must be submitted as a separate file in Word as .doc or in Excel as .xls
  8. References should be numbered in order of appearance in the text and arranged in the same order in the final list.

Short Communication

  1. Text should be divided into separate sections (Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion), without a separate section for conclusions.
  2. No more than 20 references and up to 3 illustrations (figures and/or tables).

Full-length Paper

  1. Text should be divided into separate sections (Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion), without a separate section for conclusions
  2. No more than 40 references.

Review Article or Overview

  1. Text should be divided into sections with appropriate titles and subtitles.
  2. No more than 90 references

Concepts and Comments

  1. Text may be divided into sections with appropriate titles and subtitles.
  2. No more than 40 references and up to 3 illustrations (figures and/or tables)

Case Report

  1. Text should be divided into sections with appropriate titles and subtitles.
  2. No more than 20 references and up to 3 illustrations (figures and/or tables)
